There he is. This is at a school field trip to the local helitack base. Which if any of you know this little guy... this is his thing. How could it not be? This is what daddy does. He was obviously inspecting it very carefully, remembering every detail.
So, he turned 3 on Sunday. 3! That is such- not a baby anymore- not a toddler anymore. He and his sister (who will be 5! in December) are growing up. I'm a proud mommy. We had a little party at the park with awesome weather, for those of you who remember last year. We didn't do a theme like usual, just some fun colors, a menu C helped choose, a pinata loaded with sugar and these... Banana split cupcakes. This is a yellow cake with banana, chocolate chips, and chopped Marciano cherries inside. Topped with a marshmallow and vanilla frosting, chocolate syrup and a cherry.
And, because not everyone likes cupcakes. A chocolate cake with strawberries in the middle, white frosting and some fruit for decoration. I usually do a different cake each time. I've done a tractor cake, gum drop cake, and Disney princess, etc. I know sugar bombs! I also had Capri suns and candy in the pinata. But whatever. The kids birthday's are the only time of the year we throw a party and it's their day to feel special. So have at it!
Thank you to my family who drove out from the bay area and our friends from school. And C's in heaven with all the tools he got! He had been busy making forts, hammering baseboard, welding metal and so much more.
So, happy birthday my little guy! Mommy and daddy love you like crazy!
