Food For Thought

Penne Pasta Bake- another fire station find

1 box penne pasta (my new obsession is to use whole wheat pasta)
1 jar of your favorite pasta sauce or homemade if you're Martha
1 tub fine grated Parmesan
pine nuts
package sweet Italian Sausage

Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Bring pasta to boil in large pot until al dente
In a fry pan cook sausage, be sure to cut into it while browning so it doesn't stay in one big clump
When sausage is almost done push it to one side of the pan and toast pine nuts in same pan. (C'mon, who needs more dishes)
When pasta is done and drained, sausage and pine nuts are done- pour them into a large casserole dish or baking pan and stir in your pasta sauce and as much Parmesan as you like. Be sure to sprinkle some on top.
Bake for about 35 minutes or until melted and cooked on top.
Serve with a good salad and garlic bread.
It's pretty yummy! Enjoy!

For a variation do all of the above except use pesto, bow tie pasta and you can just mix it all stove top.
