Friday at Home

Today was great. I did some organizing in the 3rd bedroom closet that I had taken over for my files, printer, and papers. Uggg, papers galore. It's somewhat better. Then we got started on our winter vegetable garden. We got the soil tilled, as best as I could, and weeded. It's all ready to go. We just need to get some seeds, not sure what yet. But it was nice getting my hands in the soil and the kids learned how to cut back the mint that was growing out of control. DD kept asking me if she could put the "poison berries" from the trees in the garden to make carrots.

So, I was bummed that I can't make the lunch bags from the oil cloth. So I ended up using it as a splat mat for the marker and chalk spills from the easel. It works and I like looking at the black and white pattern.

This was supposed to be a beanie. But as you can see my superior crochet skills it turned in a different direction. But, this is perfect for my sister who is turning 10 tomorrow. It actually turned out pretty nice. I hope she likes it. I don't know much crochet talk, but there is a lot of half stitch and single stitch in there. Oh, and I used a size F hook. Happy birthday Emmy-gum!

It's good to be back! I love the splat mat, I bought the exact same print for MY lunchbags. You can borrow one of my machines if you still want to give them a try!
