Thursdays Thing for my Baby: Co-sleeper

The next thing on my list to pull out and clean is our co-sleeper. We have an arms reach co-sleeper that I got 4 years ago for S, and we found it to be pretty handy. We have the one pictured above. It goes up next to the bed. The idea is you can roll over and see the baby or have easy access picking up the baby to nurse or bottle feed. I have the original. I wish that it had wheels though because it is a little large and heavy to move away from the bed. There are other styles and sizes to pick from. Something people like about the co-sleeper is that it can also be used as a pack and play.
We ended up having a family bed along with using the co-sleeper. It's just how it worked out because it was so easy to nurse with the baby right there. And, 3 days out of the week Chris is gone, so there was more room in the bed. There are draw backs and it got cramped at times with 2 kids and us in a queen sized bed...but for the most part it was cozy. But, to get another story you should ask Chris how he liked it! Eventually, a crib is needed and we have a really nice one from Babi Italia. S used it very little. But it was cozy. (Don't ask me how I know) C used it more. It is not even set up yet for this baby since we don't know what we are having. If it's a girl it'll go in S's room and vice versa. I do suggest some nice soft organic bedding since the baby ends up spending a lot of time sleeping (hopefully.) Our baby bedding is one of many places carrying organic bedding. You can even find nice bedding at the big chain baby stores, too.
Next week I may not get to Thursday's Thing. I have lots going on...boo.
