Ba- humbug?

So, it's no surprise to those who know me. I don't celebrate Halloween. It's just not my cup of tea. I did when I was little. I have my personal reasons. I'm not into celebrating scary stuff, death, and gross things. Which that seems to be all around. Even at the grocery store they have this crazy scary man thing that makes scary noises as you walk by. It's just me. I don't care if any one else does. I don't judge. I will say that kids in costume are very cute though.
As for me and my family- I'd rather celebrate the fall season. Since we can't escape it, I told the kids that we can have our own little harvest party at home on Halloween. They wondered what we were going to do for Halloween. What were they going to dress up as? As for S school, her class does not celebrate any of the holidays. Her teacher thinks there is too much educational stuff to be done. Which is fine. However, C's school celebrates every little thing right down to Chinese New Year and the gingerbread man. Which is also fine. So, I let C dress up as an army man costume that we had, because if Halloween is only about dressing up- then we celebrate it every day in our house. My little imaginative children dress up EVERYDAY at home. Their "regular" clothes come off as soon as they get home from school and are never to been seen again until we have to leave the house again. C's school got to trick or treat the local fire station which made C so happy. No explanation required. See him there with the army helmet?
So, call me a party pooper. But there are plenty other great holiday's and traditions to cherish with my family. Oh, I could care less about Valentine's day either. However, I may change my ind about that one if I got an awesome romantic gift and dinner.
P.S. Stay tuned for my next Thursday Thing for my Baby. Also, I will be posting soon about my preparations for S's 5Th birthday party.
