Are you serious?

So, we all woke very early. 6 am to be precise. And we (meaning the kids, my little sister, and I) were all feeling pretty energized so I suggested we go exercise at the track. They were all for it because my kids think that when they "exercise" they need to dress appropriately. Usually meaning little teeny tiny shorts that ride and socks to thier knees. They look Napoleon Dynamite-ish or like the guy from Juno. It's pretty silly.

Anyway, I loaded up thier bikes and off we went to the nicer local high school with the cool track where people of all ages and mommy's with strollers, kids on bikes, runners training, and so forth go. This was my first time taking the kids with thier bikes. I got the idea watching other mom's do so and I finally got up the "ganas" to do it too. It worked out great! They go just fast enough for me to get a brisk walk in and set a go pace for me. I needs me some good exercising, you know, since bambino #3 is on the way. I was feeling pretty good about the kids and me getting a workout in. Until...

A man, obviously a coach, because he had that get up on: striped polo tee, ball cap, and tan cargo shorts, decide to reprimand me.
Him: Do you know bikes aren't allowed on the track?
Me: Uh, seriously?
Him: Uh, yeah. And we have a camp training in 20 minutes, so ya need to go soon. On the weekends some times it's ok for bikes. (but not now, ok)
Me: (just getting a sweat on getting pretty angered) Seriously? This is like the only place in our county for kids to ride thier bikes. (no exaggeration)
Him: Yeah, there's a sign that says no bikes. (And walks away)

So, a little back round. Where I live in the foothills there are, well, hills. There's barely, any sidewalks, and the road traffic is usually going at least 45mph on long windy 2 lane roads. It's not exactly pedestrian friendly. But, it is beautiful here and there are lots of hiking trails and lakes that we do take advantage of, but, how about a semi- flat strip of land where the kids can roam a little without having to pack for the day. Or, even an adult. Pick one of the three (i think) local gyms where you can pay $70 a month. I quit the gym- excuse me- *sports club* because everywhere I turned they wanted an additional charge.

So, the track. I saw so many moms with stroller's there before and there were tire tracks from trucks, Arrrgggg. You know what? I'm just gonna keep going and they can just reprimand me every time. It's crazy.

And for all you runner. Please spare me any lame excuse about how a 2 year olds training wheels mess up the gravel, making it an uneven surface, causing your shin splits. Save it.

P.S. Rec. department, where is my refund that was due three weeks ago for allowing my kids to swim with a kid who had a contractible disease?!

P.P.S. Please ignore me. I might be over it tomorrow.
